Albertsons Safeway: Product Development and Regulatory Affairs Intern

My internship with Albertsons living the corporate life has given me another glimpse at the supply chain of food unlike any other experience. I have learned how to evaluate private label products for launch nationwide, observe the intricate process of developing the nutrition label, and research what it means to have a Clean Label on our products.

Group Lifestyle Balance Coach: Diabetes Prevention Program

I currently work as a Diabetes Prevention Group Lifestyle Coach under UC Davis Occupational health. I co-instruct sessions with Linda Adams, RD, and I maintain a data file recording our participants' metrics to be submitted to the CDC monthly. It has taught me how behavior change and coaching takes practice, and that health education truly makes my heart happy. I love what I do!

Student Liaison: California Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics

As a Liaison for the Academy, I have learned the importance of continuing our education after college and networking with other nutrition professionals. I helped plan the 2018 Dietetic Internship Symposium, where we invited DIs from all over California to speak about their programs to potential future applicants. I also encourage UC Davis Students to become apart of the Academy.

Fruit and Veggie Up! Coordinator

2017-2018 was a big year for growth regarding Food Insecurity on campus. As Coordinator, I worked to expand Fruit and Veggie Up, a program that distributes free produce to UCD students, to the new Aggie Compass Basic Needs Center. I managed volunteers and coordinated operations to get produce safely distributed to students, as well as educated students on how to cook the free produce.

Nutrition Marketing Coordinator, UC Davis Dining Services Sodexo

Working for Dining and Sodexo, my mission was to help students choose healthier options as they navigated the DC. I took photos of Healthy Aggie Plates, molded after the MyPlate model, then posted them on popular @ucdhealthyaggies Instagram for students to follow! Click the link below for a gallery of my Healthy Aggie Plates.
